Anatoly Chubais

Chairman of the Executive Board, RUSNANO Corporation

 


 

Dr. Anatoly Chubais has served as a member of Tri Alpha Energy’s board of directors since 2013 and has been Chairman of the Executive Board of RUSNANO since 2008. Between 1998 and 2008, Dr. Chubais was Chairman of the Board at RAO UES, the state-owned electrical power monopoly in Russia. In this role, he brought the industry out of an insolvency crisis, ensuring a steady supply of electric power. He also played a key role in reforming the electric power supply chain by creating strategic divisions within the sector. Prior to his role at RAO UES, Dr. Chubais was involved in the democratic movement in Russia, leading Boris Yeltsin’s election team and serving as Chief of Staff for President Yeltsin. He served as a Deputy Prime Minister under both Boris Yeltsin and Viktor Chernomyrdin.
Dr. Chubais received a Ph.D. from Palmiro Togliatti Leningrad Institute of Engineering and Economics (LEEI) and holds an honorary Ph.D. from St. Petersburg State Engineering and Economic University. He is the chairman of the Innovation Policy Committee of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, co-chair of the Russia-European Union Roundtable of Industrialists, and a member of the international supervisory board of J.P. Morgan Chase Bank.
