Arthur Samberg is currently Chairman of the Board of Tri Alpha Energy and has been a member of the company’s board since 2007. He primarily works with startups in the technology space through Hawkes Financial Services and Acadia Woods, LLC — family entities focused on tech-based venture capital.
Mr. Samberg serves on the Board of Trustees, the Executive and Investment Committee, and the Children’s Advisory Council at New York-Presbyterian (NYP), and he is a former member of the Campaign Steering Committee for the Children’s Hospital at NYP. He is a member of the board of directors for Levan, Inc., OpenMobile, the board of the New York Genomics Center, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He previously served as Chairman of the Jacob Burns Film Center, where he is currently Chairman Emeritus. He is a former board member of the National Board of Directors of the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship and of Historic Hudson Valley and a past Senior Chair of the Wall Street & Financial Services Division of UJA .
He holds a B.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he is a life member of the MIT Corporation and current member of the MIT Executive Committee. For five years, he served as Chairman of the MIT Investment Management Company and he currently sits on the Board of Advisors of the MIT Energy Initiative. Mr. Samberg earned his M.S. from Stanford University and M.B.A. from Columbia University, where he is co-chair of the Board of Overseers of Columbia Business School.
