Michael W. Cappello holds more than 30 years’ experience in the nuclear industry, including design, engineering, construction, modification, operations and new technology development. Prior to Tri Alpha Energy, he worked at SAIC, Stone & Webster Engineering, PSC’s Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Generating Station, Informatics, and SA Robotics, where he served eight years as CEO. His awards include the 2008 Ernst & Young “Technology Entrepreneur of the Year” award for the Rocky Mountain and Pacific South West Region, entry into the Entrepreneur Hall of Fame in San Francisco, and multiple INC 500 Awards. Mr. Cappello’s unique and innovative approaches to the delivery and commercialization of new technology were highlighted in “Outsmart! How to Do What Your Competitors Can’t,” by New York Times best-selling author Jim Champy.
Mr. Cappello holds a B.S. in engineering sciences from Regis College, along with minor degrees in physics and mathematics. Mr. Cappello was one of the first to receive PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and has subsequently trained hundreds of project managers and engineers in the art and science of highly complex project delivery and commercialization.
