Rear Admiral Mary P O’Donnell, USCGR (Ret) is the Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Tri Alpha Energy. She brings over 45 years of experience in the private, public, and military sectors in the areas of project management, contract and performance assurance, labor relations, human resources, and expeditionary warfare. Her leadership roles include: Director at the Nevada Nuclear Security Site (NNSS), Assistant General Manager for the Bechtel Corp at the Nevada Test Site, Human Resources transition manager at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL), the Human Resources Manager at Yucca Mountain and 31 years as a Coast Guard Officer retiring as the Deputy Commander, Pacific Area for Mobilization and Reserve Component Affairs. She was the first woman in the Coast Guard to be promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral. Rear Admiral O’Donnell was appointed and served as a Commissioner on the Military Leadership and Diversity Commission.
Rear Admiral O’Donnell is a graduate of the Ohio State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education. Staying with the Big 10 schools, she attended both Michigan State University, graduating with a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature, and the University of Michigan’s School of Business, completing a course of study in Strategic Human Resources Planning. She also attended Golden Gate University, completing the course work for a Master of Public Administration and has attended the Naval War College, the National Defense University, and completed the CAPSTONE program for flag and general officers.
